CELESCO'S NEW LONG-RANGE LINEAR TO ROTATIONAL MEASUREMENT MODULE MATES TO THIRD-PARTY ENCODER |

Canoga Park, CA -- Celesco Transducer Products, Inc., the leading manufacturer
of cable-extension position transducers, has just announced a new family of
transducers that uses a unique thermoplastic cable that has virtually an infinite
fatigue life. The rugged new PT5 mid-range measurement family is available in
ranges from 40 to 150 inches and with electrical feedback signals in an almost
unlimited variety of analog and digital formats.
Rather than using a stainless steel cable like Celesco’s other families of transducers, the new PT5 family uses a cable designated as the V62. Manufactured to Celesco’s proprietary specifications, the V62 is a composite construction of a thermo-plastic yarn whose properties are equivalent or superior to those of Kevlar. In addition to its long life, it is also resistant to solvents and concentrated acids. The PT5’s remarkable strength, durability and reduced inertia enable it to better handle dynamic applications such as high acceleration/deceleration machinery. Like Celesco’s other transducers, the new PT5 family can be installed in minutes, function properly without perfectly parallel alignment, and fit into areas that are unsuitable for rod-type measurement devices. The PT5 family offers even greater flexibility than Celesco’s other transducer families since its cable exit can be rotated relative to the mounting surface, providing four different cable exit orientations. All members of Celesco's cable-extension position transducers are easy to mount and easy to use. The transducer's body is mounted to a fixed surface. Its stainless steel extension cable is attached to the movable object. As the object moves and the cable extends, the transducer's sensing element sends an electrical signal proportional to the cable's linear extension. (An internal spring motor maintains constant tension on the cable for retraction.) Celesco’s families of industrial-grade transducers are available in a variety of measurement ranges and mechanical and electrical options. For shorter position measurement ranges, Celesco offers its PT8000 Series and for longer ranges it has the PT9000 Series—which both use stainless steel cables. For applications requiring rotational position feedback, Celesco offers the RT8000 and RT9000 Series. Celesco has a 25-year history of designing and manufacturing cable-extension transducers that provide superior reliability and durability. OEMs and end users choose Celesco transducers because of their high accuracy, resolution, and repeatability. The company, founded in 1968, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tedea, Ltd.
