CELESCO'S LONG RANGE LINEAR TO ROTATIONAL MEASUREMENT MODULE MATES TO THIRD-PARTY ENCODER |

Canoga Park, CA -- Celesco Transducer Products, Inc., the world's leading
manufacturer of cable-extension position transducers, now offers a unique
measurement device that easily and cost-effectively turns virtually any
industrial encoder into a linear position transducer. With measurement ranges
from 75" to 1750", it is ideally suited for long-range position measurements,
including telescoping hydraulic cylinder and overhead crane applications.
Celesco delivers its Model PT9600 industrial-grade linear to rotational measurement module to precisely fit a customer's encoder of choice. When customers receive their PT9600, all they need to supply are bolts to mount their encoder housing to the PT9600. This modular approach gives users all the ease-of-use benefits of Celesco's cable-extension transducers plus the ability to use a proven third-party encoder. Measuring the movement and displacement of objects is easy with Celesco's cable-extension position modules. The transducer's stainless steel cable is attached to the moving object, and its body is attached to a fixed surface. As the cable extends, the encoder shaft spins, revolving once for every 12.7" of linear cable extension and providing hundreds of pulses per inch to be used as a signal for display, recording or feedback. An internal spring motor maintains tension on the cable for retraction. Priced from $549 each for single pieces, the PT9600 delivers price/advantages unmatched by discrete or multi-staged measurement devices such as proximity switches, which require perfectly parallel alignment, encoders on wheels or belts, which frequently slip because they cannot maintain friction, and rack and pinion assemblies which are expensive and difficult to install. The PT9600 installs quickly, does not require perfectly parallel alignment and does not need periodic adjustments. When retracted, the PT9600 is only 6 inches yet can measure up to 1750" . The PT9600 is designed to mate with incremental encoders, absolute encoders, resolvers, and virtually any rotational sensor. The PT9600 is just one example of Celesco's innovative position and displacement measurement products. Celesco, headquartered in Canoga Park, California, designs, manufactures and markets a wide range of transducers and related precision instruments. The company is the world's largest supplier of cable-extension position transducers which are used to detect and measure linear position and velocity. Its other families of transducers are used for measuring rotational position and differential pressure. Celesco also manufactures thermocouple reference junctions. OEMs and end users choose Celesco transducers because of their high accuracy, resolution, and repeatability. The company, founded in 1968, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tedea, Ltd.
