CELESCO'S LINEAR TO ROTATIONAL LINEAR MEASUREMENT MODULE NOW MATES TO BEI AND OTHER POPULAR ENDORDERS |

Canoga Park, CA -- Celesco Transducer Products, Inc., the world's leading
manufacturer of cable-extension position transducers, now offers a unique product
that easily and cost-effectively turns a BEI or other popular industrial encoder
into a linear position transducer. Celesco delivers its Model PT8600
industrial-grade linear to rotational measurement module pre-mated and calibrated
to the BEI encoder. For customers preferring to add an encoder themselves,
Celesco also offers PT8600 modules separately. This modular approach gives users
all the ease-of-use benefits of Celesco's cable-extension transducers plus the
ability to choose a third-party encoder such as the industry's proven BEI
encoder.
"We're excited about building partnerships like this one with Celesco," said BEI Sales Manager Glenn Avolio, where the " whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Every-one benefits, especially the user." Mated with BEI's incremental encoder, the PT8600 delivers the accuracy and reliability made famous by BEI's accepted and proven mechanical and electrical design. When mated with an absolute encoder, it has the ability to maintain absolute position even if power is lost. The PT8600's unique adapter plate makes it quick and easy to replace an encoder on the factory floor. To change resolution, a user can simply change the encoder.Installing the PT8600 unit takes only minutes. Its strong, flexible cable is easily routed over pulleys or through conduit. It does not require perfect alignment, and provides reliable and precise position measurements without the need for periodic adjustments. The unit's small size to measurement ratio allows it to be easily installed in tight areas. When retracted, the PT8600 is only 6 inches yet can measure up to 60 inches. -more- Page 2 - Celesco's Linear to Rotational Measurement Module Mates to BEI Encoders Celesco will mate, assemble and calibrate a PT8600 to a BEI encoder for approximately $900. Individual PT8600 modules separately are approximately $400. Measuring the movement and displacement of objects is easy with Celesco's cable-extension position modules. The transducer's stainless steel cable is attached to the moving object, and its body is attached to a fixed surface. As the cable extends, the encoder shaft spins, providing hundreds of pulses per inch to be used as a signal for display, recording or feedback. An internal spring motor maintains tension on the cable for retraction. The PT8600 is just one example of Celesco's innovative position and displacement measurement products. Celesco, headquartered in Canoga Park, California, designs, manufactures and markets a wide range of transducers and related precision instruments. The company is the world's largest supplier of cable-extension position transducers which are used to detect and measure linear position and velocity. Its other families of transducers are used for measuring rotational position and differential pressure. Celesco also manufactures thermocouple reference junctions. OEMs and end users choose Celesco transducers because of their high accuracy, resolution, and repeatability. The company, founded in 1968, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tedea, Ltd.
