CELESCO AND FRABA COMBINE TO MAKE
LINEAR MEASUREMENTS BUS COMPATIBLE
Canoga Park, CA -- Celesco Transducer Products Inc., the leading manufacturer of cable-extension transducers, has just announced a strategic alliance with Fraba Encoders. The integration of product lines results in cable-extension linear position measurements unparalleled in accuracy, ease of use, and application compatibility.

The technology involved is the Fraba AWC 58 -- a state-of-the-art, 25 bit opto-array multi-turn absolute encoder -- and the Celesco PT8600/PT9600 motion conversion modules. When the two technologies are mated, the linear movement of the Celesco measuring cable causes rotational shaft motion of the Fraba absolute encoder. For example, each 125mm extension of the PT8600's measurement cable will rotate the Fraba encoder's shaft once -- providing 13 bits of data. An internal spring motor maintains constant tension on the cable for retraction. The encoder's advanced electronics supply CAN-Bus, Profibus, SSI, InterBus-S, as well as parallel outputs.

Celesco's cable-extension modules are suitable for full-range linear measurements from 1" to 1,700", provide millions of cycles of use, and are easy to install and maintain since they do not require perfect parallel alignment.

This modular approach enables users to achieve an optimal application solution since they can select from the broad range of products offered by both companies.

Celesco has a 25-year history of designing and manufacturing cable-extension transducers that provide superior reliability and durability. OEMs and end users choose Celesco transducers because of their high accuracy, resolution, and repeatability. The company, founded in 1968, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tedea, Ltd.
